Pablo Armesto
The work of Pablo Armesto (Schaffhausen, Switzerland, 1970) is in an experimental space in which sculpture and painting coexist with the immaterial nature of light and shadow, together with technology and science. The luminescence of its parts is achieved through LED systems, neons, cathodes and optical fiber, combined with wood and lacquered metals.
Since 2011 he has been part of the Marlborough Gallery with whom he has participated in international fairs such as Art Geneve and ARCO, numerous individual and collective exhibitions, including Luz sobre blanco, Marlborough Gallery, Madrid (2017), Material / Inmaterial, Marlborough Gallery , Madrid (2013); White light, Marlborough Gallery, Barcelona (2012).
Some of his works in the field of the art of new multimedia technologies and installation, such as Sequenced 24, have been exhibited in centers such as the ZKM Museum in Karlshue in Germany (2009) and Laboral Centro de Arte Gijón (2008) through of the transnational exhibition “Banquet, nodes and networks”, he has exhibited at art centers in Brussels and France. He has received numerous awards and scholarships among which stand out, Punto de encuentro (Espacio Astragal, 2004), Luz interior (Gallery Espacio Líquido, 2005) and Dentro, la lluvia (Museo Barjola, 2009).
Pablo Armesto has participated in numerous public art projects among which are “El Cabañu” in Candás (Carreño, Asturias), “Step by step” for the Gardens of the Prince of the Royal site of Covadonga (Cangas de Onís, Asturias), “Dreams of paper” FIB Art, (Benicasim, Castellón 2005) or Aranda de Duero and his work is present in public and private collections such as the Government of the Principality of Asturias, Cajastur, the Ministry of Culture of the Principality, El Corte Inglés, La Board of the Port of Gijón, Olor Visual Collection and Bodegas Otazu, among others.
