The two bonded figures composed atop the mighty bull materialize the concept of two souls on the pathway to self actualization. The delicate process of understanding our human existence is ever changing and carries endless amounts of potential.

‘DREAMDIVER’

This monumental diver is the intersection between human life and the I AM OCEAN series. The diver simultaneously plunges into the depths of water or possibly human existence.

‘HEDGEHOG’

“The hedgehog is one of the most beautiful creatures on earth. The charm of this wonderful animal reminds us that life belongs to everyone. This little hedgehog is a model of a giant 3 meter hedgehog I have created. By enlarging this small animal I seek to highlight the value of every living being on earth, no matter how small it is! The distance from the little hedgehog to the giant hedgehog is one and only. Let us save the wonderful world to which nature has given us generously. Let’s save the planet …” – Kostis Georgiou

PEGNION symbolizes the relationship between the powerful bull and the acrobat at play with the endless possibilities of life. With understanding humanity in mind, Georgiou draws on the notion that human life is full of complex mysteries.

‘METEORON’ ( Blue Dancers)

Translating to ‘in the sky’ or ‘high in the sky.’ These acrobatic figures appear to transcend through atmospheric elements. The dancers are interconnected, gracefully trusting one another as they meneuver through the balance of life.

Universally, the bull has many symbolic meanings. Images of bulls have been depicted since the evolution of humanity, and can be found in ancient art, literature, astronomy, and astrology. It can be deeply related to solar energies, determination, strength and virility. In general, a bull is symbolic of power and fertility.

On another level, TAURUS is a representation of our relationship with finance. Drawing on the human relationship to money, human beings have taken the bull motif as an emblem of economic growth and prosperity. The term “bull market” refers to the condition of a market that is expected to rise.  The precise positions of the figures atop the bull elicit a feeling of poise and balance, as if their movements are a language unto themselves. Our bodies as human beings each have their own story to tell.

Proof that depending on one another keeps us fortified, PRAXIS showcases the beauty of human form and flexibility. The movement of each figure alludes to Georgiou’s understanding of anatomy, while the connection between each figure alludes to the symbolism of climbing higher- so long as there are others to lift us up.
