“Our maiden voyage around the world has given me the chance to immerse myself in the pulse of life within our ocean like never before. Since we launched in December, I’ve taken a crash course in sailing while learning what it takes to be part of a small crew on the open ocean. We’ve had our fair share of challenges, but the rewards have been immeasurable. Each dive has brought me closer to the animals I love as I explore their environments through the lens of my camera. I’ve grown as an artist, conservationist, and a person working with a host of passionate, local voices all rising for our seas. We couldn’t have picked a better place to find our sea legs than the Bahamas and I’m so grateful to have met such a vibrant community of artists, leaders, and visionaries. As I look ahead to the next horizon, I feel more hope surging—I feel the inevitability of a flourishing ocean.” –CM
