From Jacob Gils’s early Limit to Your Love series, this work transfers a Polaroid image of the nude figure onto handmade watercolor paper. Assembled from softly weathered panels, the figure surfaces from shadow with quiet tenderness — the bleed and texture of the transfer process lending the photograph the immediacy, fragility, and painterly surface of a memory held briefly in the hand.
