We awoke at 4:15 am every day for weeks to the sound of rain pounding our tents. We would crawl out of warm sleeping bags, put on still wet clothes, and walk down to the beach, then wriggle into damp photo blinds and sit perfectly still, straining our ears for any hint of BC's coastal wolves over the relentless downpour. Every moment was worth it when they appeared, at last, and howled in unison.
