About the Artist
Born in Belgium in 1976, Jonas Leriche spent ten years working as a fashion photographer before making the decision to move to New York and focus exclusively on his artistic practice. An early career in fashion enabled Leriche to develop his photography skills but spending day after day in an industry dominated by superficiality and social media posturing, left him with little enthusiasm. The experience did, however, entirely inform his approach to the practice of making art.
An early career in fashion enabled Leriche to develop his photography skills but spending day after day in an industry dominated by superficiality and social media posturing, left him with little enthusiasm. The experience did, however, entirely inform his approach to the practice of making art.
Leriche consciously seeks out the juxtaposition between what is artificial and what is authentic, rendering artworks that encourage the viewer to identify this duality. The driving force behind Leriche’s work is his desire to inject raw, natural elements into a flawless, cultivated image in order to challenge those viewers who are unaccustomed to scratching any deeper than the surface.
Leriche’s photographs are explosively emotional and striking in composition – a direct result of the fact that Leriche meticulously “constructs” each, layer by layer by layer. A single photoshoot typically requires a week of 18-hour days, due to the elaborate design and direction, not to mention Leriche’s unparalleled attention to detail.
Leriche’s newest collection of sculptures entitled, “Vanity Skulls,” is evocative of his photography and yet specifically created to explore the transience of life, the futility of pleasure and the certainty of death. Each sculpture seeks to contrast symbols of wealth with symbols of ephemerality and death.
Leriche’s silkscreen print editions are an homage of sorts to his sculptures – a realization of the “Vanity Skull” in a completely different way, utilizing diamond dust, gold and silver leaf, iridescence and a myriad of colors.
Leriche’s artworks have been exhibited at Art Miami, Context, Scope and Art Wynwood. He has had solo exhibitions in New York City, Dubai, Saint Petersburg Russia and in Antwerp Belgium.

Creativity takes courage…” -Henri Matisse
CHICAGO – Hilton Contemporary today announced a specially curated exhibition of new and archival images by Canadian-born photographer David Drebin and internationally renowned Danish contemporary photographer Jacob Gils. The exhibition will prominently display recent works by both artists.
A graduate of Parsons School of Design in NYC, David Drebin is a multidisciplinary artist working in various art forms producing limited edition works including Photographs, Lightboxes, Neon Light Installations, Diamond Dust works and more. Love stories and landscapes are at the foundation of David Drebin’s panoramas, portraits, and neon sculptures. His artistic style is epic, dramatic and romantic, depicting women in various stages of love.
Jacob Gils combines traditional techniques with experimental processes to form his evocative artwork. With his Movement series, which will be on display at Intersect Palm Springs, Gils uses a multiple exposure technique to capture the brilliance of the natural and man-made world, while emphasizing the fleeting nature of time. His unique creative vision has earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious Prix de la Photographie Paris. In 2024, he was awarded the largest-ever financial prize in art fair history – $100,000 – by the Erarta Foundation at the ZonaMaco Art Fair in Mexico. The award’s recipient was chosen by the fair’s attendees rather than a jury of art professionals.
In addition, Hilton Contemporary is pleased to feature the paintings of American-French painter Sophie Matisse, the great-granddaughter of Henri Matisse, and step-granddaughter of Marcel Duchamp.
CEO and Founder of Hilton Contemporary Arica Hilton states, “We are grateful to Intersect Palm Springs for inviting us to return to the desert oasis of this historic mid-century city to showcase the artists we believe in. As Henri Matisse once wrote, ‘Creativity takes courage.’ From well-established to emerging, each day we witness the courageous minds and hearts of the artists we represent. This is what brings meaning to our lives.”
Hilton Contemporary is especially proud to showcase the works of Sophie Matisse. “I was born with a great advantage as I was also born an artist,” states Sophie.
“Imagine the courage it takes to establish a successful art practice when your benchmark is the legendary Henri Matisse. With artists such as Sophie Matisse, there is no apology. No feeling less. In fact, she has embraced her roots and her own sense of self.” ~ Arica Hilton
David Drebin will be present for opening night February 12, 2026, from 4PM-8PM, and throughout the week.

THE COLLECTION
DAVID YARROW
Opening 24 October 2025
Hilton Contempory is proud to present The Collection | David Yarrow.
Yarrow refuses to be conveniently categorized within a genre of photography through the stories he tells. This collection of his work showcases his rigourous aesthetic programme and his relentless journey that has taken him around the world, photographing subject matters including sports stars, wildlife, supermodels and frontier towns. ‘The Collection’ offers additional insight through behind-the-scenes photos and Yarrow’s own first-person contextual narratives.
His work has earned him a global following, garnering wide acclaim in the fine-art market. In 2024, he appeared on Artsy’s Top 10 artists with the most inquiries and was the only photographer to feature on the list. His work is exhibited at some of Europe and North America’s foremost museums, and globally in over 50 leading fine-art galleries.
Philanthropy has always been central to Yarrow’s mission and over the past decade, he has raised more than $20 million, focusing on conservation, the socially disadvantaged and paediatric cancer care. The David Yarrow Family Foundation raises money every week from sales of Yarrow’s work.

Cristina Mittermeier and Paul Nicklen Presented by Hilton Contemporary at Photo London 2025
London, UK — Hilton Contemporary is honored to present a curated selection of works by internationally renowned photographers Cristina Mittermeier and Paul Nicklen at the landmark tenth edition of Photo London, held at Somerset House from 14–18 May 2025.
Recognized for their masterful storytelling and enduring commitment to the natural world, Mittermeier and Nicklen bring two distinct yet complementary perspectives to Photo London. Exhibiting side-by-side, their imagery traces the delicate balance between life and landscape, urging a deeper understanding of humanity’s place within the rhythms of the Earth.
Under the vision of gallery founder Arica Hilton, Hilton Contemporary continues its mission to champion artists whose work invites meaningful reflection on contemporary global issues. Through their singular photographic styles — Mittermeier’s intuitive, dreamlike narratives and Nicklen’s visceral, unflinching documentation — both artists present a visual dialogue that speaks to both the beauty and the fragility of the planet we call home.
“Through photography, we remember that the ocean and our planet are not apart from us — they are part of us,” says Cristina Mittermeier.
“We have a responsibility to fight for the wild places and animals that do not have a voice,” adds Paul Nicklen. “My work is about making sure they are seen.”
About Cristina Mittermeier
Cristina Mittermeier is an internationally exhibited photographer, marine biologist, and storyteller whose work explores the human connection to nature. Her visual narratives reach beyond documentation, offering a window into the shared fragility and resilience of life. Her photographs have been shown worldwide and are held in numerous private and public collections, celebrated for their emotional honesty, scientific grounding, and timeless beauty.
About Paul Nicklen
Paul Nicklen is a Canadian photographer and former marine biologist whose body of work captures raw, unscripted moments of life at the planet’s extremes. Known for his ability to reveal the intricate lives of wildlife in some of the world’s most remote environments, Nicklen’s photographs are widely collected and exhibited. His images challenge viewers to confront what stands to be lost in the fight to protect our planet — and what still can be saved.
