King penguins are social animals and operate in groups during activities ranging from nesting to hunting to eating. As I walked along a stretch of beach with this waddle, I couldn't help but wonder – are they capable of experiencing friendship? I don't have the answer, but asking the question can begin to break down the wall we have built to separate ourselves from the rest of the animal kingdom.
