A mother and her kitten share a tender moment in a dense patch of thorny shrubs. Not long ago, scenes like this were rare in Chilean Patagonia, as sheep farming and agriculture had pushed pumas to the brink. Today, thanks to conservation efforts and the rise of ecotourism, these apex predators are slowly reclaiming their place in the landscape. My hope in sharing intimate moments like this is to inspire more of us to embrace empathy and understanding when it comes to making space for our fellow wildlife.
