“When I first arrived in Patagonia to photograph pumas, I did not know what to expect, but I was aware of the famed cat known to locals as ‘Petaka.’ Exuding the kind of confidence that can only come from years of raising and defending kittens, she stared right through me even as she kept her ears tipped towards any hint of life across the landscape.
